David's BackGammon has taken several years to develop and many more hours than I would like to admit. I have taken extra time to make it into a quality, full featured program that is very easy to use. I think you will find that it is one of the best (if not the best) backgammon programs available for personal computers. As such, I have decided to ask for a registration fee of $20 or $25 to use David's BackGammon depending on whether you just want the password to make your copy fully functional or want the latest version sent to you.
This is a demo version. The Load and Save game options are disabled and it only allows you to finish about half of the games. You will be able to to get the feel of the game to see if you like it before you spend your money.
Use the REGISTRATION menu from within the game for information on registering and to print a registration letter. The registration fee is either $20 or $25 depending on whether I need to send the latest version or just a password to activate any disabled options and turn off demo messages.
If you would like it sent by e-mail instead of regular mail, include your e-mail address and request that it be sent using this method.
Even though it is not necessary to read the manual to play David's BackGammon, for an additional $3, I will send a copy of the manual on disk or e-mail it, whichever you request.

Macintosh Version
Speech is an integral part of the game. It makes it much more fun to play.
It is strongly recommended that you install either the orginal Macintalk (Not for the Power Mac) or the new Speech Manager software. Both the original Macintalk and the Speech Manager are supported. Even though the Speech Manager will not work on slower computers the orginal Macintalk will work. The Speech Manager works fine on my Quadra 630. The Speech Manager and the various voices can be found on the System 7.5 or later and System 7.5 Update CD-ROMs or from Quality Computers ( 1-800-777-3642). The Speech Manager is part of the PlainTalk software.
Low memory - If you are short of memory the game will use less memory if you have only 256 colors or less selected. Also holding down the Apple key until the board appears reduces the amount of memory required. It takes abour 1200k of memory if you do the above and don't use the Green Pattern board.
The game should work on all machines with a 68030 or faster processor including the Power Macs. If it does not please contact me. I will get you working! It might be a little slow on some 68030 processors though. It works best on the 68040 processor.
If the game crashes on your machine try taking any copies of Macintalk out of the game folder AND the System folder.
Window's Version
The same game is also available for Windows 3.1 and later including Windows 95.
